In today’s bonus blog post we’re looking at 5 reasons why you might want make a CBD bath part of your daily routine, or take one as a romantic Valentine’s Day activity.
Valentine’s day is coming quickly towards us, and in lockdown it can be hard to find romantic date activities for you and your significant other to enjoy the day. A romantic bath could be the answer. A bath, whether with a partner or on your own, could be the perfect way for you to enjoy Valentine’s Day, but have you tried a CBD bath? A hot bath can help us unwind; it can relax muscles, and prepare us for a good night’s sleep. No, a CBD bath won’t get you high – especially if you use CBD isolate products like the ones we produce at Voyager.

1. Hot water does wonders for your body and CBD
Have you ever taken a hot bath when you’re all stuffed up with a cold? You may have found it easier to breathe as the steam helped clear your airways. With a CBD bath, you can breathe in CBD. CBD is also known for its potential as an anti-inflammatory, and hot water will only improve these benefits. When you’re sitting back and relaxing in a hot bath, the heat of the water causes vasodilation of the blood vessels, a process that essentially enhances the absorption of CBD.
Relax, and know that your hot bath is helping your body to expedite the process of absorbing CBD.

2. It can help treat acne
We have another great post that goes into more detail about the potential benefits of using CBD to treat acne. To summarise, CBD connects with the endocrine system – a sort of chemical messenger system in the body. CBD can interact with the endocrine system to help regulate hormones, including cortisol, the stress hormone. Less stress means breakouts are less likely. The anti-inflammatory properties of CBD can also be helpful in treating spots.
There’s lots of great CBD skin care (including our new Voyager Life range) that can help with acne, but what about those places that can be hard to reach with topical salves and creams such as the upper back or neck? CBD baths can provide a solution. By fully immersing yourself in a bath you allow the CBD to absorb into your skin all over your body.
3. CBD can make a bath even more relaxing
The potential to help you get a good night’s sleep is touted as one of the biggest benefits of taking a bath. In one of our earlier blog posts we talked about how important sleep is. Anything that can help us relax and switch off is a huge benefit to overall health. CBD’s anti-inflammatory properties can help us let go of muscular tension in the body, helping our bodies feel ready for rest. For localised muscle tension, it could be worth trying our CBD muscle salve, designed to nourish skin where applied and relieve soreness. However, for an all over effect, it might just be easier to lie back in a CBD bath.
4. You aren’t ingesting CBD orally
If you’re new to CBD, the idea of taking a supplement orally can be intimidating. If you would like to try CBD but aren’t ready to get yourself a tincture or gummies, adding CBD to your bath can be a great alternative. If you enjoy taking baths then this won’t be an imposition on your usual day-to-day routine and you can try taking CBD in a way that is comfortable and familiar to you. Absorbing CBD through your skin is certainly not less effective either, with CBD entering through your pores, it can reach your bloodstream efficiently.

5. It’s plant-derived, natural, and vegan
Have you ever looked at the back of your shampoo bottle and been horrified at the mile-long list of chemicals that you rub into your skin every day? If you’re looking to add something a bit more natural to your bathtimes, why not try CBD? CBD comes from the hemp plant and pure CBD oil is totally vegan and plant-derived. At Voyager we use pure, natural ingredients in our CBD and hemp products.
As CBD isolate is scentless, it is often also combined with other essential oils, such as lavender oil. Make your CBD bath personal to what makes you happy by choosing scents that bring you bliss.

How to add CBD to your bath
So you’ve decided that your next bath will be a CBD bath? There are a variety of ways in which you can incorporate CBD into your bath time. The most obvious suggestion is CBD bath bombs or blocks. Voyager Life has some divine bath blocks coming very soon, and in two different varieties for you to choose from. The lavender bath block is a timeless classic, while sweet orange and bergamot will take you to sunnier and warmer places with its sweet fruity tones. Don’t have a bathtub? Don’t despair! Our CBD soaps just landed in our online shop. Moisturising and nourishing to skin, these soaps are perfect for the bath or shower. You could use them with a CBD sugar scrub to help exfoliate and remove dead skin. Find a recipe for a CBD sugar scrub that you can make at home on our blog here.
Whether you’re taking a bath with someone you love or just want to show yourself a bit of self love, CBD is a great addition to help you unwind and choose you.
