You may have noticed that at Voyager many of our skincare products share a key ingredient – hemp seed oil. Today, we’re going to talk about the nourishing power of hemp in skincare, how it can provide so much goodness for our skin, and why we chose to add it to our Voyager products.
What is Hemp Seed Oil?
At Voyager we specialise in two products that both are derived from the hemp plant – CBD and Hemp Seed Oil. Our CBD products come from the hemp plant and the CBD isolate that we use is extracted in a way that means that we can make CBD products without THC (another cannabinoid that comes from the hemp plant). Despite coming from the same plant, CBD oil and Hemp Seed Oil are two different things, each with their own benefits. CBD oil (along with other cannabinoids) is extracted from hemp flowers, stalks, and leaves. Hemp seed oil, meanwhile, is extracted from, as you might have already guessed, the seeds!
These seeds don’t contain any CBD (or THC), but instead have a rich profile of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, vitamins B and D, and nutritional antioxidants. These qualities have made hemp seed oil desirable in nutrition, as well as skincare. Our Hemp Seed Oil for Pets uses pure hemp seed oil and nothing else so that your pet can benefit from the high nutritional value of hemp seed oil, but in this blog we’re focusing on the skincare side of hemp seed oil.
Hemp Seed Oil and Skincare
Hemp seed oil is highly desirable for skincare. Hemp seed oil is high in fatty acids, which offer incredible benefits. They can help to moisturise your skin, and help it retain moisture. They act as building blocks for your skin, helping your skin cells grow stronger. Skin can look smoother with increased elasticity, and fatty acids can help eliminate flaky, dry skin.
Thanks to being so high in fatty acids, hemp skincare products can promote healthier, smoother looking skin. It’s appropriate for all skin types, and hemp seed oil is a natural, plant based ingredient, so it makes an excellent vegan plant based skincare solution.
Vitamins! Vitamin D, found in hemp seed oil, is known as the sunshine vitamin. It plays an integral role in skin rejuvenation and protection. Vitamin D contributes to skin cell growth and repair, perfect for making your skin look and feel healthier. Hemp seed oil is also great for sensitive skin, with vitamin B also present. Vitamin B is an antioxidant which helps to alleviate sensitive skin, as well as stop signs of premature aging.
All of this considered, you can see why at Voyager we’re so keen to add hemp seed oil to our products! We work to combine hemp seed oil with other ingredients which compliment the properties of hemp seed oil. Voyager Hemp and Nettle CBD Soap
Voyager Life Hemp and Nettle CBD Soap was designed to help customers with sensitive or problematic skin find some relief. We draw on the healing properties of Vitamins B and D and combine it with the healing properties of nettle. Voyager Hemp Hand Cream

That’s what makes our Hemp Hand Cream essential to keeping hands nourished and moisturised. The fatty acids that are so abundant in hemp seed oil mean that this hand cream can provide intense hydration, even when used sparingly. We’ve gone on long enough about the benefits of hemp seed oil for skincare, but it’s actually great for hair care too! Moisturising your beard hair gives your beard softness and shine, and the fatty acids in hemp seed oil promote beard hair growth. This beard balm is also enriched with jojoba oil, macadamia nut oil, and vitamin E. It’s waxy quality makes it ideal for styling your beard, while those skin and hair care ingredients soothes any itching and nourishes the skin beneath your beard.
